PROFFLEX window sealants: a reliable solution for sealing assembly joints

Even modern energy-efficient windows cannot fully protect the room from cold, drafts and moisture without properly sealed installation joints. It is the joints between the window frame and the wall that are the most vulnerable area through which heat loss and moisture accumulation occur. To solve this problem, special window sealants are used, in particular the PROFFLEX system.

The installation seam is usually filled with polyurethane foam, which performs a thermal insulation function. However, without additional protection, the foam quickly loses its properties under the influence of moisture, ultraviolet light and temperature changes. Therefore, the correct window installation unit involves the use of two types of sealants - for the internal and external contour.

PROFFLEX B sealant for internal joints

PROFFLEX B is a one-component acrylic sealant designed to seal the internal contour of window, door and balcony structures. Its main task is to prevent the penetration of moisture and steam from the room into the installation joint, while maintaining the vapor permeability of the system.

The sealant has good adhesion to most building materials: concrete, PVC, wood, glass, metal, brick and plaster. Due to its pasty consistency, it is easy to apply, does not slip from vertical surfaces and evenly fills joints and microcracks. After polymerization, the sealant retains elasticity and can be painted.

PROFFLEX A sealant for outdoor use

To seal the outer contour of the installation joint, PROFFLEX A is used - an acrylic sealant designed for operation in an open environment. It ensures that moisture is removed from the installation foam to the outside and protects the joint from atmospheric influences.

PROFFLEX A is characterized by high resistance to ultraviolet, frost, temperature changes and mechanical loads. The permissible deformation of the assembly joint is up to 15%, which allows to compensate for seasonal movements of structures. The sealant can be used in a wide temperature range - from +35 °C to -20 °C.

Features of the PROFFLEX system application

Before applying sealants, it is necessary to assess the condition of the installation joint. In case of destruction or darkening of the installation foam, it should be completely removed and replaced with a new one. Sealing is performed only after the foam has completely dried. The surfaces must be clean and dust-free, and the sealant is applied in an even layer of the appropriate thickness. The combined use of PROFFLEX A and PROFFLEX B allows you to create a reliable and durable installation unit that prevents heat loss, condensation, freezing of slopes and the appearance of mold.
